2011 -- Museum looting and a major information war raging with Wikileaks/CIA and the corpo-media....
One thing is always true of the kleptocratic syndicate that runs Israel: never let a crisis go to waste. The "made for television" looting of the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo, a museum established in 1902 to stem the tide of the systematic theft of Egyptian historical artifacts and relics by unscrupulous western nations, including Britain, may have masked the behind-the-scenes pillaging of artifacts located in museum store rooms, well-beyond the view of visitors.
Viewers of the televised scenes of the looting of the museum on Mariette Pasha Street on Tahrir Square saw roughly ten artifacts lying on the floor, along with broken glass display cases. Oddly, no artifacts from the public galleries were reported stolen. There was a report that the heads of two mummies were removed, but not robbed. Egyptian protesters formed a human chain around the museum in order to protect it from further pillaging. Later, it was reported that some of the "looters" at the museum were actually Egyptian security police masquerading as looters. Or were they?
Zahi Hawass, the Secretary General of Supreme Council on Antiquities, told The Washington Post that during the evening of January 28, looters descended into the museum from ropes. The description of the "looting," with individuals repelling through broken windows from the roof, appears to be more of professional heist operation than random looting by street mobs. Hawass said about 100 artifacts were broken but that none were particularly precious. However, more ominously, Hawass reported the keys to the museum were stolen. There was no information on whether the keys included those to the store rooms and vaults where the most valuable artifacts are stored.
As with archeological sites throughout Iraq during the U.S. invasion of that country, there are reports of looting around Egypt, including at the site of the first pyramid, as well as numerous tombs, at Saqqara. The Post also reported attempted break-ins at the Coptic Museum, the Royal Jewelry Museum, the National Museum of Alexandria, and El Manial Museum.
On April 14, 2003, this editor reported on the looting of the National Museum in Baghdad as U.S. troops stood idly by: "U.S. troops stood by while Iraqi mobs looted and destroyed artifacts at the National Museum of Iraq in Baghdad. They also reportedly joined looters who pillaged other lucrative targets like office buildings, stores, and private homes. The Bush regime ignored calls from Koichiro Matsura, the head of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), who appealed to the United States to provide protection for Iraqi museums . . . One could feel the pain experienced by the museum's deputy director when she tearfully told Western journalists that 170,000 priceless artifacts dating back thousands of years to the very cradle of human civilization in the Tigris-Euphrates Valley, the fabled home of the biblical Garden of Eden, were looted or destroyed. She said one tank and one or two American soldiers would have been sufficient to protect the museum from the vandals. But instead, American troops stood idly by while 7000 years of Iraqi history was cleansed. Even irreplaceable archaeological files and computer disks were destroyed. Museum employees blamed U.S. troops for the carnage . . .
What was not destroyed by the Mongols in 1258 was allowed to be destroyed by the Americans in 2003. Gone are the artifacts of ancient Sumeria, Assyria, Babylon, Mesopotamia, Ninevah, and Ur . . . A November 8, 2005 Washington Post article by Guy Gugliotta reported that thousands of stolen artifacts in Iraq are still missing. Only 5,500 of 14,000 relics have been recovered according to a clearly frustrated Marine Corps Colonel Matthew Bogdanos. The most famous artifacts remain missing and there are fears that they have ended up in the international black market for stolen artwork and antiquities -- a black market controlled by the Russian-Ukrainian-Israeli Mafia (RUIM), a criminal syndicate with ties deep into the White House and Pentagon . . . Bogdanos said that 8000 small artifacts were stolen from the locked basement of the National Museum in what the colonel described as an 'inside job.' . . . It is suspicious that the neo-cons, shortly after reports of museum looting in Iraq were aired around the world, claimed that most of the artifacts had been recovered. That was a lie and a very suspicious cover-up of the facts. Although the Post article claims that the stolen artifacts may eventually wind up in London, Tokyo, or New York through dealers in the Persian Gulf, no mention is made of Tel Aviv, Amsterdam, Antwerp, and Bangkok -- the same cities involved with blood diamond smuggling out of Africa and the same network of cities that would be involved in relic smuggling out of Iraq."
Now, we have witnessed another attack on a national museum in a major Middle East capital city, Cairo, which like the museum in Baghdad, contains relics of great value to the theocratic state of Israel, a nation that believes it has rights to land and property outside its borders based on a set of unsubstantiated tracts of ancient myths and folklore concerning the "captivity" of the Jewish people in Babylon -- the former Iraq -- and Egypt.....

The End of Pax Americana/Judaica in the Middle East....
Although both the "Jasmine Revolution" in Tunisia and the so-called "Days of Rage" in Egypt appeared, at the outset, to have been "themed" George Soros/US Agency for International Development/CIA (USAID)/National Endowment for Democracy (NED) seeded revolutions, the Arab Middle East is not eastern or central Europe. The neocon-controlled corporate media, including Wolf Blitzer, Israel's agent-of-influence bureau chief of CNN News, at first ecstatic over the idea that Arab nations were ushering some sort of pro-globalist governments that would cement ties to Israel and take direction from the World Bank, Council on Foreign Relations, and the Zionist Haim Saban Center at the Brookings Institution, their hopes were soon dashed.
After it became clear that Tunisia's and Egypt's post-regime governments would include so-called Islamists from Ennahda and the Muslim Brotherhood, respectively, the tune changed from CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, and other networks that receive their agenda and talking points from the Israel Lobby and Israeli government-sponsored media organizations like the Search for International Terrorist Entities (SITE) and the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). The corporate media line, echoed by President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was that the transitions to democracy in Egypt and Tunisia had to be "orderly." That is neocon "Newspeak" for no "Islamist" roles in the new governments.
After Vice President Biden opined that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was not a dictator and that the most important aspect of U.S.-Egyptian relations was Egyptian support for the peace treaty with Israel, as if that is all that matters for U.S. policy in the Middle East, the Obama administration began to get nervous about its future relations with a post-Mubarak Egyptian government. All of a sudden, new Wikileaks material appeared via the neocon Daily Telegraph of the UK, the same paper that proffered piffle about Saddam Hussein and his "threat" to the West.
The cables cited by the "Torygraph" included a December 30, 2008 cable from U.S. ambassador in Cairo Margaret Scobey to the State Department stating that an unnamed Egyptian activist was funded by the embassy to attend an "Alliance of Youth Movements Summit in New York. The selective release of the cable in question, one sent in the transition phase between the Bush and Obama administrations, is proof, yet again, of the conspiracy between the Obama administration and the information/psychological warfare contrivance known as "Wikileaks" and its now-revealed whack-job founder, the CIA evading, cross-dressing Julian Assange. A neocon broad sheet in London hyped a meaningless cable and suggested that it was proof that the U.S. was covertly backing the overthrow of its ally, Mubarak, in the waning days of the Bush administration in December 2008. People were expected to believe that even if such plans existed, they would be contained in a mere "Secret" cable from Cairo to Washington, bypassing the ultra-secret channels of the CIA and National Security Agency. The release of the cable was nothing more than an attempt by the Obama administration to set up a straw man to show some past disagreement with Mubarak in order to gain favor with the Egyptian opposition. The scam did not work.
The new leader of the unified Egyptian opposition, Mohammed ElBaradei, the former International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director who was on the neocon "hit list" for his insistence that neither Saddam Hussein nor Mahmoud Ahmadinejad were pursuing nuclear weapons, declared that the United States had lost all credibility in Egypt. ElBaradei soon found himself being called a "stooge of Iran" by one of the typical Jewish leadership whiners in the United States -- Malcolm Hoenlein, the executive vice-president of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
The U.S. double game of trying to appear supportive of the popular revolt against Mubarak while covertly providing Egypt with all kinds of military and intelligence support, including Internet jamming systems from the Boeing-owned and Israeli-founded firm Narus, and tear gas canisters made in Pennsylvania, is now known throughout every city and village in Egypt. And there will be an eventual accounting for America's perfidy in Egypt. Making matters worse was Mubarak's choice of Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman as his vice president. Suleiman crafted Egypt's participation in the CIA's rendition and torture program.
The Daily Telegraph claptrap that was passed off as "journalism" did contain one important gem -- that the U.S. embassy paid for the travel to New York of an activist obviously identified and selected by the vast array of Soros, NED, USAID, and other non-governmental organizations that specialize in "themed" revolutions.
But whatever the intent of the Soros, USAID, Freedom House gang and their ilk, the Egyptian Revolution took on monumental and unified proportions never before seen in Egypt. From the Muslim Brotherhood to the secular opposition and youth movements, Egypt is united against Mubarak.
When it was clear that the Egyptian revolution would not be stage-managed by the West, it was time for a set change by the U.S. media. Zionist propagandists like Wolf Blitzer began warning of the danger of an Iranian-style Islamist government in Egypt. After Tunisia's Islamist opposition leader returned from exile in Britain and Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh faced mass demonstrations, the Israel Lobby-influenced producers and editors received new marching orders to inject through their media prisms the notion that if Mubarak fell, a new Islamist-dominated government would scrap the peace treaty with Israel. The Israeli government also weighed in, telling the United States and European governments to temper their criticism of Mubarak. Tne only thing missing from Israel and its amen chorus in the United States was a suggestion that criticism of Mubarak is akin to "anti-Semitism," the usual refrain from the Lobby's loudest cantors.
And, as always, the specter of the fictional "Al Qaeda" and its equally-fictional Maghreb and Arabian Peninsula franchises, was trotted out by the corpo-media and its Zionist overseers to suggest that Al Qaeda would take advantage of the turmoil in Tunisia, Yemen, and Egypt to commit acts of terrorism in those countries.
Groups like the Saban Center's Brookings Doha Center in Qatar, which appears to only exist in order to force-feed Israeli propaganda into the mouth of Al Jazeera, which is headquartered also in Doha, began to parade its "experts" on Al Jazeera to suggest that the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood posed an Iranian-like danger to Egypt and that ElBaradei was weak and virtually unknown inside Egypt. France 24, the Sarkozy-run news channel, repeated the same meme. The Israelis and their shills like NBC's David Gregory, who once admitted that he performs his journalistic duties based on his Jewish teachings [how long would a Muslim-American anchorman, totally fictional, of course, last if he said he reported the news based on his teachings from the Koran?] began to stress that "stability" in Egypt was more important than human rights. The "stability" meme was echoed by Israel's puppets, including Hillary Clinton, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and British Foreign Secretary William Hague.
Hillary Clinton has now called most of America's ambassadors, consuls, and envoys back to Washington for an unprecedented meeting. Obama and his faltering nation cannot put the Middle East popular revolt genie back into the bottle. The popular Arab revolt will spread like wildfire to Yemen, where the U.S. should prepare itself for the restored independence of a popular socialist-oriented republic in South Yemen; Sudan; Mauritania; Morocco, where the U.S. also should prepare itself for an independent Western Sahara; Jordan; and the biggest fish, Saudi Arabia. After being ordered out of progressive Latin America, the failing and sick United States is facing expulsion from the Arab Middle East.
The "perfect storm" of global banker-imposed austerity measures and currency chicanery and market manipulation that has resulted in high food prices and massive unemployment also enters into the equation in Egypt and North Africa. Like their comrades across the Mediterranean in Greece, France, Italy, and Spain, the North Africans are tired of corrupt governments that enrich themselves courtesy of the global elites while they starve. Without the ability to change their governments through elections, the North African economic revolt also took on major political dimensions. The corporate media, while spinning the events in Cairo and Tunis, avoided covering the street demonstrations throughout Italy where people banging pots and pans demanded the ouster of Italy's corrupt media billionaire, the Mafiosi sex maniac Silvio Berlusconi. Massive protests by Albanian socialists against that nation's kleptrocracy were also denied coverage by the U.S. info-tainment media outlets masquerading as news organizations. The corpo-media will do anything to avoid giving any indication that a worldwide popular revolution is getting into high gear, one that will eventually see the ouster of autocratic and corrupt regimes throughout the Middle East, Africa, remaining parts of Latin America, as well as Africa, the Far East, and Europe. For the Middle East, the dramatic developments unfolding on the streets of Cairo, Tunis, and other cities means the final end of Pax Americana/Judaica in the region.....
2011 -- An unsung heroine of the Bush "Dark Era"
There were a number of women who, during the eight years of the Bush regime, exemplified the spirit of this nation's founding mothers and sisters. Women like the FBI's Coleen Rowley and Sibel Edmonds; Enron's Sharon Watkins; the Army Corps of Engineer's Bunnatine Greenhouse; J.P. Morgan risk analyst Indira Singh; long-serving White House correspondent Helen Thomas; Karl Rove's former research specialist Dana Jill Simpson; the CIA's Valerie Plame Wilson; former U.S. Park Police chief Teresa Chambers; retired Army Colonel Ann Wright; Susan Lindauer, the CIA's back-channel to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein; and, especially, this editor's extraordinary girlfriend, a former National Security Agency (NSA) analyst, all of whom put the interests of the nation, its Constitution, and ethics above personal ambitions, fearlessly spoke about what was wrong, and did what was right.
But perhaps no one paid more of a price for telling the truth than the Bush administration's designated scapegoat in the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal than did Army Brigadier General Janis Karpinski, who was busted back to the rank of colonel on May 5, 2005, before she retired. Karpinski was the commander of the 800th Military Police Brigade in Iraq and was demoted by President Bush in order that he and his senior officials and military commanders could save face after horrid details of the physical, mental, and sexual abuse of detainees at Abu Ghraib and other U.S. detention centers in Iraq came to light.
Informed sources have told WMR that the scapegoating for the detainee abuse at Abu Ghraib and other prisons and carried out by CIA and Pentagon contractors, as well as by Israeli interrogators brought into Iraq by the Coalition Provisional Authority of Paul "Jerry' Bremer, did not end with Karpinski. Two officers who publicly defended Karpinski were also retaliated against on the orders of the Pentagon hierarchy and the Bush White House. Karpinski was the highest-ranking female military commander in Iraq. She also became the number one target for the neocon mensch in the Pentagon and White House.
One military commander who defended Karpinski was retired Major General Charles H. Swannack, Jr., the commander of the 82nd Airborne Division in Iraq. WMR has learned that the personal contents of Swannack's emails from Iraq back to the United States were intercepted by the Pentagon brass after he defended Karpinski over the Abu Ghraib scandal. The emails were then used to force Swannack to retire. Swannack publicly stated that the Abu Ghraib scandal was the fault of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and he later called for Rumsfeld to resign.
The other officer who incurred the wrath of the Pentagon brass and the neocons salted throughout the Pentagon and White House for supporting Karpinski was Army chaplain Captain James Yee, 1990 West Point graduate. Yee, a Muslim chaplain, was arrested on September 10, 2003 after returning from the Guantanamo, Cuba gulag to Jacksonville, Florida. Yee was charged with sedition, aiding the enemy, and espionage, among other offenses and detained Yee at the Navy Brig in Charleston, South Carolina. Yee was kept for 76 days in solitary confinement and he was subjected to sensory deprivation, a torture technique. Yee was released with all charges dropped on March 19, 2004. However, like Swannack, Yee's email was being monitored by the Pentagon's spies and he was falsely charged with improper use of a government computer and storing pornography on it. Ultimately, Yee was granted an honorable discharge.
Rumsfeld is currently finishing his memoirs, "Known and Unknown," which will undoubtedly skip over how his atrocious and practically treasonous stewardship of the Pentagon resulted in a major flag officer revolt. However, the corporate media lap dogs and the Zionist and neocon power and money centers that give them their marching orders will treat the Rumsfeld memoirs as the sole version of the history of the Iraq misadventure. Count on it.
Meanwhile, neither Karpinski, Swannack, or Yee have ever seen a formal apology from the Pentagon or the Obama White House, which walks in lockstep with all of the Bush-era war and terrorism policies. In some cases, Obama has ratcheted up those policies to make every American traveling a suspected terrorist......
It has now been revealed that 18 priceless artifacts were stolen from the Cairo museum on January 28, at the outset Egyptian revolution. Reports from Cairo confirm that among the artifacts stolen were a limestone statue of Pharaoh Akhenaten; a sandstone head of a princess from Amarna; a stone statuette of a scribe from Amarna; eleven wooden statuettes of Yuya, an 18th dynasty figure; a statue of Queen Nefertiti; and two statues, one gilded, of boy king Tutankhamun. Another secure artifact storage site within the royal necropolis at Dahshur, south of Cairo, was also broken into but details of thefts have not yet been revealed.

In addition to the battles in the streets of Bahrain, there is a battle within the royal family. The king apologized for the one death on the first day, then the security forces launched an incredibly ugly attack shortly thereafter, killing at least 5 more Bahrainis. They then attacked people coming from the funerals today. They have prevented ambulances from reaching the wounded, and they have brutalized doctors trying to tend to the wounded.
On Friday, the king called (via a statement read by the Crown Prince) for the army to withdraw from the streets. Although he is the commander in chief of the army, the armed forces were still in place at last report. So who is in charge? Is Khalifa, the hardline PM and senior uncle of the king, the one who is calling the shots, quite literally?
I also suggested that the GCC FM “emergency” conference in Manama yesterday was intended to assure Bahrain that it had carte blanche to do whatever was necessary to put down the rebellion, regardless of cost. Saudi Arabia, I suggested, was terrified of the consequences of a Shia uprising spilling over into the Eastern Province. And other Arab rulers in the Gulf heartily concur that Bahrain is the place to draw the line, rather than Kuwait City or Abu Dhabi.
Finally, I suggested that it was probably too late for the dialogue that the king is requesting. After all the bloodshed — all coming only from the government side, it should be noted — it will be hard to get people to sitaround the table and reason together.
There does not seem to be a happy ending to this story....

Mohamed ElBaradei is another example of somebody who the Egyptians should look upon with a suspicious eye. Up until his January 27 return to Egypt, he had been a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Crisis Group. The ICG is a right-wing (notwithstanding its euphemistic name and stated aims) American globalist think tank and imperial strategist – much like CFR and the Brookings Institute et al – which advises the US government on foreign policy and other matters....
